Few Texas State students have heard of Mana's Restaurant, located in what seems like the middle of a neighborhood on Alabama Street, but that doesn't mean that it is laking in business.
A diverse amount of San Marcos residents come to Mana's because of its great mexican food and low prices. Going here and listening offers a view of how diverse the population of San Marcos is and what is going on in their lives. When I was there the table next to me consisted of older adults, young kids and a young man who was in an Air-Force uniform.
Also it was interesting for me to observe how this family business is run and how it is fairing during the economic downturn.
Going to Mana's offered me insight to the world of San Marcos outside the university as well as some great enchiladas.
